Jess & Tom
Wellington Barn wedding photography by JTP Productions captures Jess and Tom’s beautiful winter wedding in Calne, with rolling Wiltshire hills, brilliant light and a couple who looked every bit as good as the day felt. Visit the Wellington Barn, Calne wedding venue website.
The setting
Wellington Barn wedding photography, winter light and rolling hills.
Wellington Barn is a beautiful Wiltshire wedding venue, and it made a wonderful setting for Jess and Tom’s wedding photography. On a winter day like this, the landscape around it becomes part of the story too.
The countryside stretched out behind Jess and Tom, giving the portraits space, light and that unmistakable feeling of being somewhere properly in the Wiltshire countryside.
The bridal party
Soft blush, and a lot of style.
Jess looked incredible, with a beautifully fitted lace wedding dress and a timeless, elegant silhouette that suited her perfectly.
And the bridesmaids brought their own touch of style, dressed in soft blush pink that worked beautifully against the winter light and the warm tones of the barn.
It was a colour palette that felt romantic without being overly sweet, and the whole bridal party looked effortlessly put together.
The ceremony
The kind of moment that needs no direction.
There is something about a ceremony photograph when everyone is completely absorbed in what is happening.
Jess and Tom walking hand in hand, surrounded by the people who had come to see them get married, was one of those beautifully simple moments.
No performance. No fuss. Just the two of them, and everyone around them.
The moments in between
The best photographs are not always the obvious ones.
A wedding day is full of moments that happen around the main events, and these are often the ones that tell you the most about the people in the room.
A reaction, a laugh, a hand reaching across the table, someone completely caught up in the moment.
These are the photographs that bring the atmosphere of the day back.
The portraits
Some places do the work for you.
The rolling hills around Wellington Barn gave Jess and Tom an incredible backdrop for their portraits.
With the winter sun catching the edges of the landscape and plenty of space around them, the photographs had that lovely sense of freedom that only comes from getting outside and letting the surroundings breathe.
They looked brilliant, and the setting made it even better.
A little personality
Beautiful, but never too serious.
The portraits did not need to become a formal photoshoot. There was plenty of room for Jess and Tom to simply be themselves.
A little attitude, a lot of personality, and the sort of photographs that feel like them rather than a version of them created for the camera.
Into the evening
And then the day really got going.
By the evening, the formality had disappeared and the dance floor had taken over.
This photograph has everything I love about wedding photography, the couple completely lost in each other, their friends and family surrounding them, and the atmosphere of the room doing the rest.
One last look
Some photographs stay with you.
As the light dropped over the hills, the whole day seemed to slow down for a moment.
Jess and Tom walking back into the evening, with the landscape stretching out around them, felt like a fitting final frame.
In their words
“James completely hit the nail on the head.”
“James is clearly a very talented photographer and our photos are incredible. He was super chilled and friendly on the day, which put us and our guests at ease and made having photographs taken fun and enjoyable.
I had a Pinterest board of the kind of styles I liked, and James completely hit the nail on the head with them. He had a great eye for finding the right areas, angles and poses to make memorable photos.
The day after the wedding, he sent a couple of sneak peek photos and I was not expecting the whole album so soon. He is clearly very passionate about his job, and we can’t thank him enough for capturing such special moments and memories for us.”
